How to apply

To apply, you must fill out the online registration form before the deadline for your session and send it to us along with all the required material.

Once you have completed the application on-line, you should receive an automated reply rapidly. Le Domaine Forget will review the information and acknowledge reception of the complete application by email. You can print the form before the final version is sent in.

Required Material

Depending on the session and instrument, you must send the following documents to Domaine Forget before your deadline. Click on the link below to have information pertinent to each document: letter of recommendation, statement of purpose, two MP3 recordings, photo ID, payment of registration fee.

Payment of the registration fee

Le Domaine Forget requires the payment of the registration fee ($60 CDN / $60 US) in order to process the application. Please refer to Money Matters for more information and payment options.

Scholarship application

In order to apply for scholarship, you must check the appropriate box on you online registration form, and send all the required documents before February 15th, 2010. You can get further information on the Scholarships page.

Recordings and uploading 

You must submit two (2) recordings (MP3 files) for:

• For all applications to the following sessions:
  • Chamber Music
  • Brass
  • Woodwinds
  • Guitar
  • Strings
  • Voice
  • Jazz Singing
• For all scholarship applications to the jazz session

N.B.: Please visit the New Music page to get the details about the registration process and the scholarship applications for this session.

Each piece should be from 4 to 7 minutes and of contrasting style (period and composer). At least one piece must be accompanied. Recordings must be of good quality and each audio segment must be clearly marked. 

Downloading your mp3 files:
You can download your mp3 files directly on our website. You will receive the information concerning the downloading process in your confirmation email following the reception of your online registration form. *CHANGE: Please, disregard the notice posted earlier about the 24-hour delay to send in your recording through the web site. You should however make sure to download your material before your deadline.

Photo ID 

A photo ID should be provided for all applications.

You can download your photo ID directly on our website. You will receive the information concerning the downloading process in your confirmation email following the reception of your online registration form. Make sure to download your file within 24 hours of your online registration.

Letter of recommendation

A recent letter of recommendation (less than 6 months) must be emailed directly by the professor to aca@domaineforget.com. You can also send a signed letter by fax to 418-452-3503 or by email in PDF.

A letter of recommendation is required for the following sessions:

• Brass
• Woodwinds
• Guitar
• Dance
• Strings
• Voice

Statement of Purpose

A statement of purpose is required for all scholarship applications. In 150 words, explain the reasons why you want and/or deserve a scholarship from Domaine Forget. Send the document by email to aca@domaineforget.com and be sure to include your contact information.

General information

The deadline is the date that all documents should be RECEIVED. An acknowledgement of receipt will be emailed to all applicants.

One month prior to your session, we will email all the details concerning the preparation of your stay at Domaine Forget.

A 10% discount on the tuition will be deducted on all applications received by February 15, 2010 at the latest, with or without scholarship requests. 

Applications received after the deadlines will still be processed if space allows. All incomplete files will be rejected.
