This two-week program proposes to hornists aged 15 or more a collaborative and personalized pedagogical approach. The Horn session emphasizes solo practice by offering masterclasses, private lessons and technique classes.

  • Private lessons (2 minimum per week)

  • Sectional orchestral excerpt reading Brass & Percussion*

  • Mock Auditions
  • Chamber music (brass quintet, instrumental ensemble and large brass ensemble)
  • Alexander Technique
  • Student concert in the Françoys-Bernier concert hall

*Upon confirmation of your participation, we will inform you on the parts you need to prepare.


  1. Collaborative piano services are offered for the masterclasses (it is the student’s responsibility to provide piano parts to the pianist)
  2. Free access to all the Academy classes and activities for the entire session (possibility to attend other instruments masterclasses when schedules allow)
  3. Free access to le Domaine Forget International Festival concerts during the session*
    *Restrictions may apply for certain concerts
  4. Sunday outings and student evening activities (bonfire, sports activities, etc.)


Ranking audition: Monday June 6th, as of 9 A.M.
The ranking audition is for evaluation and placement in masterclasses and chamber music ensembles. Each candidate must perform one unaccompanied work lasting 5 minutes maximum. Students interested by the sectional orchestral exerpt reading Brass & Percussion class will have to play an excerpt from the list above at the audition.Participants who are not selected to play in masterclasses will receive one additional private lesson per week.
Each participant must submit a list of the repertoire that he / she will play in masterclasses or in private lessons at least 6 weeks before the session begins to: admission@domaineforget.com. A follow-up email will be sent in due course.
Each participant must fully insure his / her instrument for the entire length of his /her session.


1. Video link (YouTube, Vimeo or DropBox links or any other link directly accessible, WITHOUT the need of a password) including:

  • 2 video recordings - 15 minutes total – of contrasting types (style, period and composer), at least one with accompaniment.
  • 1 orchestral excerpt from the standard repertoire.

2. One letter of recommendation (attached to your registration form or sent by email to admission@domaineforget.com if provided by the teacher.

First instalment 

To confirm and reserve your place, a first deposit, non-refundable fee covering half of the full amount for your internship is required within seven (7) days, following your acceptance letter and invoice.

Second instalment

The second payment is due no later than May 1, 2016.


A $50 fee will be charged for any change, on dates, or duration of yourstay. Failure to comply with these terms, will result for the accepted student the lost of his/her reserved place. Le Domaine Forget reserves the right to cancel any program if circumstances demands it.


Le Domaine Forget will retain 50% of the second payment in case of cancellation of your registration. No refund will be made after May 2, 2016.


Domaine Forget uses Paypal for secure payments. Email confirmation (in addition to the automated PayPal notification email) will be sent as soon as possible, once payment has been confirmed. Payment confirmation may take a few days. Remember: You must enter the amount you wish to pay and the full name of the registering student.
