A studio where the sky’s the limit
The acoustic properties of Françoys-Bernier Concert Hall are so exceptional that several Quebec and U.S. record labels frequently use it to capture music at its most natural. To date, not counting summers when the Academy is in session, the Hall has played host to over 140 recording sessions by major symphony orchestras, early music ensembles, piano-voice duos, and many others.
Designed by New York firm Artec, the Françoys-Bernier Concert Hall keeps outside noise at bay with its fully soundproofed mechanical rooms and a structure built from a single block of concrete. Under these conditions, the quality of the silence yields recordings of the very highest fidelity. Our quest for perfection is such that we can easily attain levels of 60 decibels, and beyond.
Some equipment, including two Steinway grand pianos, is available with rentals. Need a piano tuner? Want to rent additional technical gear? We can help you, through our network of suppliers.
If you need Internet access, we can provide you with access to our IT equipment or simply arrange for you to access our network using your laptop.
You can also make use of on-demand catering, stay on site, or rent one of the five multi-purpose rooms that are part of the Domaine Forget Studios complex.
For 20 years, the Françoys-Bernier Concert Hall has been a mainstay of Domaine Forget’s reputation for excellence, with a lobby ideal for receptions large and small and a performance hall whose incredible acoustics make every concert or recording session an unforgettable experience. No stone was left unturned in designing a space where you can hear every sound and enjoy perfectly balanced acoustics. Even silence never sounded so good!
