PROGRAM 

This two-week program is offered to advanced level pianists aged 16 years old or older. This intensive two-week program offers young musicians a personalized pedagogical approach in a collaborative context. The piano session allows students to improve their skills with internationally renowned artists.

The program consists of:

  • Private lessons
    Teachers: Charles Richard-Hamelin and Ilya Poletaev
  • Masterclasses
    Teachers: Benedetto Lupo and Angela Cheng
  • Conferences, classes and thematic workshops
  • Possibility of participating in Academy student concerts or "Domaine on the Road" concert series as a soloist if recommended by a faculty professor
  • Official attestation of participation to the program

sTEPPINGSTONE PROGRAM

This segment is designed for very advanced students or young professionals whose file stands out due to its quality and its exceptional nature and who wish to work in depth on their repertoire in preparation of a recital, contest, or audition.

A maximum of 3 students will be accepted to the program and will automatically receive a scholarship worth one thousand Canadian dollars (CAN$1,000) for the 2-week program. 

The steppingstone program includes the following:

  • Private lessons and/or meetings with our guest teachers
  • A participation to a student concert of the Academy or Domaine sur la route as a soloist or chamber musician
  • An audio recording of the concert performance.
  • Consultation on career development with our Artistic Director
  • A special mention on our social media
  • Participation in a media content capsule

If you want to apply for the steppingstone program, please check the corresponding option in Step 3 of the registration form. Candidates not selected for the steppingstone program are automatically considered for the regular program.


EVERY PROGRAM INCLUDES

  • Access to all Academy classes and activities for the entire program: masterclasses, workshops, and conferences.
  • Free access to Domaine Forget International Festival concerts during the program. (Restrictions may apply for certain concerts).
  • Student evening activities (bonfire, sports activities, tourist outings, movies, yoga etc.).
  • Individual practice huts and spaces situated on the enchanting site in the middle of nature.
  • Three meals a day in the Joseph-Rouleau pavilion, which has a large terrace and marvelous view overlooking the St. Lawrence River.
  • Double or quadruple occupancy lodging.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

If you want more information about the program or the registration progress, our general information sessions are there to guide you. They consist of a short presentation of the Academy and followed by a question period.

These 60-minute virtual sessions will be held on:

  • Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10AM and 2PM
  • Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 10AM and 2PM

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Complete all steps of the online application form, pay the CAN $85 registration fee and provide the audition materiel by February 1, 2022.

In the scholarship awarding process, the evaluation committee will consider the quality of the audition material, the excellent nature of the candidate’s file as well as the student’s motivation letter.

AUDITION MATERIAL FOR THE REGULAR PROGRAM

  • Two (2) works of contrasting style, period, and composer, for a total length of 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Current biography and résumé (CV)
  • Profile picture

Please upload a separate video for every work ; public or unlisted YouTube, Vimeo or DropBox links or any other link directly accessible without a password and clearly labeled. Recordings should be recent (less than 12 months).

AUDITION MATERIAL FOR THE STEPPINGSTONE PROGRAM

  • In addition to the audition material for the regular program, submit 1 work of your choice of contrasting character, among the following for a total length of 20 to 25 minutes:

    -F. CHOPIN Études op.10 (except 3, 6, 9, 11)
    -F. CHOPIN Études op.25 (except 1, 2, 7, 9)
    -F. LISZT Étude (except 3, 6) 

All the documents must be inserted at the last step of the application form (step 5)

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

  • Arrival: Monday, June 27, 2022, as of 2PM (classes begin on Tuesday, June 28, 2022)

PAYMENT INFORMATION

First instalment
To confirm and reserve your place, a first deposit, non-refundable fee covering half of the full amount for your internship is required within seven (7) days, following your acceptance letter and invoice.

Second instalment
The second payment is due no later than May 1, 2022.


CANCELLATION / REFUND

Le Domaine Forget de Charlevoix reserves the right to cancel any program if circumstances demand it. All fees already paid will then be reimbursed. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Le Domaine Forget de Charlevoix will retain 50% of the second payment in case of cancellation of your registration.

No refund possible after May 2, 2022.


 

Paypal

Domaine Forget uses Paypal for secure payments. Email confirmation (in addition to the automated PayPal notification email) will be sent as soon as possible, once payment has been confirmed. Payment confirmation may take a few days. Remember: You must enter the amount you wish to pay and the full name of the registering student.
