Scholarship request:: check the appropriate box on the application form (step 5).

  • Recent video link* (less than 12 months) including 2 works of your choice, clearly identified and of contrasting types (style, period and composer); total length: about 20 minutes.
  • Letter of motivation explaining your artistic approach and your interest in participating in the sessions at Domaine Forget

All the documents must be inserted at the last step of the application form (step 5)

*Video link (one link per piece or a single link with different works); public or unlisted YouTube, Vimeo or DropBox links or any other link directly accessible without a password.

The student must submit the repertoire that he or she would like to work on or improve during the session by uploading the details (titles, composers and edition) to Your Profile (Step 5) by Monday May 6, 2019 at the latest. You must be prepared to play the repertoire during masterclasses.

All the students can play in masterclasses with the guest musician as long as the professors judge that their level of practice and preparation is sufficient. It is each student’s responsibility to prepare their chosen repertoire adequately.

Chamber Music
Chamber music is optional but highly recommended since it’s an essential aspect of the program and also offers many opportunities of performing in the Academy concerts. Due to logistics, it’s important to remember that a student who does manifest the desire to join a chamber music ensemble will not be permitted to withdraw from his or her assigned group.

Practices with the pianists
Students must bring the piano scores of the works they will work on and give them to the pianists at the beginning of the session. Access to piano accompaniment will be available to the students who will play in masterclasses. Depending on the pianists’ schedules other students may be able to receive some coaching with them.

Academy concerts or ‘’Domaine on the Road’’ series
All chamber music groups will have the opportunity to perform in Academy concerts or in the ‘’Domaine on the Road’’ series as long their teachers deem them ready. The faculty and artistic management could select certain students to give a solo performance at one of these concerts.

N.B.: It is strictly forbidden to record or take photos during masterclasses without the guest musician’s prior approval, should this be the case, these recordings or photos must be kept solely for your private use.

Each participant must fully insure his/her instrument for the entire length of his/her session. Unfortunately, Domaine Forget does not rent or loan musical instruments.
