This two-week program offers to pre-formed ensemble (advanced level, aged 18 and over) a personalized pedagogical approach in a collaborative context. This program is for string trio or quartets, with or without piano or any mix ensemble including at least one string instrument. 


Group must be constituted since at least September 2019 and must have a performed in concerts as a group.


  • Minimum of 3 private coaching per group per week with the Faculty professor (Marina Thibeault)
  • Masterclasses with the guest teacher (Marc Coppey, Scott St.John)
  • Participation in Academy student concerts or ‘’Domaine on the Road’’ series
  • Access to String Session instrument masterclasses
  • Workshops (posture, career, orchestral excerpts, performance psychology, conferences, etc.)


  • Free access to all the Academy classes and activities for the entire session: masterclasses, workshops and conferences
  • Free access to le Domaine Forget International Festival concerts during the session (Restrictions may apply for certain concerts)
  • Student evening activities (bonfire, sports activities, tourist outings, movies, yoga etc.)
  • Individual practice huts and spaces situated on the enchanting site in the middle of nature.
  • Three meals a day in the Joseph-Rouleau pavilion, which has a large terrace and marvelous view overlooking the St. Lawrence River.
  • Double or quadruple occupancy lodging.  Bedding service (sheets and towels) on request: $35


Complete all steps of the online application form, pay the registration fee and provide the audition materiel by February 15, 2020.

Audition material

Please upload two separate recent videos* (less than 12 months), clearly labeled, fulfilling the following requirements:

  • One (1) movement of a piece from classic period repertoire
  • One (1) movement of a piece from the XIXe or XXe century, total length: about 15 minutes
  • Biography of the group
  • Individual biography
  • Letter of motivation describing your artistic project for the session
  • Letter of Recommendation

All the documents must be uploaded at the last step of the application form (step 5).

*Video link (one link per piece or a single link with different works); public or unlisted YouTube, Vimeo or DropBox links or any other link directly accessible without a password and clearly labeled.


The student must submit the repertoire that he or she would like to work on or improve during the session by uploading the details (titles, composers and edition) to Your Profile (Step 5) by Friday, May 1, 2020 at the latest. You must be prepared to play the repertoire during masterclasses.

All the students can play in masterclasses with the guest musician as long as the professors judge that their level of practice and preparation is sufficient. It is each student’s responsibility to prepare their chosen repertoire adequately.

Academy concerts or ‘’Domaine on the Road’’ series

All chamber music groups will have the opportunity to perform in Academy concerts or in the ‘’Domaine on the Road’’ series as long their teachers deem them ready. The faculty and artistic management could select certain students to give a solo performance at one of these concerts.

N.B.: It is strictly forbidden to record or take photos during masterclasses without the guest musician’s prior approval, should this be the case, these recordings or photos must be kept solely for your private use.

Each participant must fully insure his/her instrument for the entire length of his/her session. Unfortunately, Domaine Forget does not rent or loan musical instruments.


Arrival: Sunday, July 26, 2020 as of 2PM (classes begin on Monday) 
Departure: Saturday, August 8, 2020 after breakfast

Can $1700 per person


First instalment 

To confirm and reserve your place, a first deposit, non-refundable fee covering half of the full amount for your internship is required within seven (7) days, following your acceptance letter and invoice.

Second instalment

The second payment is due no later than May 1, 2020.


A $50 fee will be charged for any change, on dates, or duration of your stay. Failure to comply with these terms, will result for the accepted student the lost of his/her reserved place. Le Domaine Forget reserves the right to cancel any program if circumstances demands it.


Le Domaine Forget will retain 50% of the second payment in case of cancellation of your registration. No refund will be made after May 2, 2020.


Domaine Forget uses Paypal for secure payments. Email confirmation (in addition to the automated PayPal notification email) will be sent as soon as possible, once payment has been confirmed. Payment confirmation may take a few days. Remember: You must enter the amount you wish to pay and the full name of the registering student.
