This two week program is designed for advanced level composers and performers (end of Bachelor’s degree, Masters, Doctorate or equivalent). This session proposes a personal pedagogical approach in a context of collaboration with professional ensembles.

The program’s goal is to develop the composition skills of the composers, to explore the different composition techniques, to initiate or to further their knowledge of composition. Each composer’s final score will be performed by professional musicians.

  • Composition seminars
  • Score analysis
  • Individual meetings with guest composers
  • Joint lecture workshop
  • Creation of each composer’s score by a professional ensemble

This program is geared towards performers who wish to deepen their knowledge and technique in contemporary music performance. The participating performers will play alongside musicians from Ensemble Paramirabo in addition to performing works by the Domaine Forget’s student composers.

The session is available to the following performers : violin, cello, flute, clarinet, piano and percussions

  • Performance seminars
  • Extended techniques
  • Coachings, private lessons and masterclasses
  • Joint reading workshops
  • Participation in Academy student concerts or ‘’Domaine on the Road’’ concert series.

The session includes

  • Free access to all the Academy classes and activities for the entire session (possibility of attending masterclasses in other instruments if schedules allow)
  • Free access to le Domaine Forget International Festival concerts during the session*
*Restrictions may apply for certain concerts
  • Student evening activities (bonfire, sports activities, tourist outings, movies, yoga etc.)
  • Individual practice huts and spaces situated on the enchanting site in the middle of nature.
  • Three meals a day in the Joseph-Rouleau pavilion, which has a large terrace and marvelous view overlooking the St. Lawrence River.
  • Double or quadruple occupancy lodging
