PROGRAM

The trombone program focuses on solo practice and chamber music. This two-week program proposes to advanced level trombonists (aged 16 and over) a personalized pedagogical approach in a collaborative context.

*Up to three (3) students per program will be selected during the analysis of admission files, for one additional private lesson per week with the guest artists.

  • Rehearsals with piano

  • Participation in Academy student concerts or "Domaine on the Road" series in chamber music or as a soloist
  • Themed workshops and lectures
  • Recording of the student concerts
  • Free access to Domaine Forget International Festival concerts during the program. (Restrictions may apply for certain concerts)
  • Official attestation of participation to the program
  • Access to all Academy classes and activities during the program
  • Student activities such as bonfire, sports activities, tourist outings, movies, etc.
  • Individual practice huts and spaces situated on the enchanting site in the middle of nature
  • Three meals a day in the Joseph-Rouleau pavilion
  • Double or quadruple occupancy lodging

APPLYING FOR ADMISSION

Complete all steps of the online application form, pay the registration fee (CAN $85), and provide the audition materiel by February 10, 2023.

All applications are automatically eligible for the scholarship program.

In the scholarship awarding process, the evaluation committee will consider the quality of the audition material, the excellent nature of the candidate’s file.

To submit a request for additional financial assistance, a justification letter must be included in your file.

AUDITION MATERIAL (3 works)

  • Two (2) works of contrasting style, period, and composer, including a minimum of one work with piano accompaniment, for a total minimum length of 15 minutes.
  • One (1) imposed work with piano accompaniment, if applicable, among the following:

    Trombone:
    -N. ROTA - Concerto, 1st movement
    -H. TOMASSI - Concerto, 1st movement
    -F. DAVID - Concertino
    -E. BOZZA - Ballad
    -A. GUILMANT - Morceau Symphonique op. 88

    Bass Trombone:
    -A. LEBEDEV - Concerto in one movement
    -E. BOZZA - New Orleans

Please upload three (3) separate videos for the three (3) individual works; public or unlisted YouTube, Vimeo or DropBox links or any other link directly accessible without a password and clearly labeled. Recordings should be recent (less than 12 months).

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

  • Arrival: Monday, May 29, 2023, as of 2PM (classes begin on Tuesday, May 30, 2023)
  • Departure: Saturday, June 10, 2023, after breakfast

PAYMENT INFORMATION

First installment
To confirm and reserve your place a first deposit, a non-refundable fee covering about half the cost of your session is required within seven (7) days following your acceptance letter and invoice.

Second installment
The second payment is due no later than May 1, 2023.


CANCELLATION / REFUND

CANCELLATION POLICY:

1st installment (50% of session fees) payable within 7 days of receipt of your invoice: non-refundable.
N.B.: This first payment is used to confirm and reserve your place in the program.
2nd installment (remaining balance): 50% refund of the amount paid if canceled at least 30 days before the start of the program.

If you cancel your participation in the session for any reason other than medical (doctor's note required) 30 days or less before the start of the program: no refund.

No refund as of May 2, 2023.

Le Domaine Forget de Charlevoix reserves the right to cancel any program if circumstances demand it. All fees already paid will then be reimbursed. Registration fees are non-refundable.


 

Paypal

Domaine Forget uses Paypal for secure payments. Email confirmation (in addition to the automated PayPal notification email) will be sent as soon as possible, once payment has been confirmed. Payment confirmation may take a few days. Remember: You must enter the amount you wish to pay and the full name of the registering student.
