This six (6)-day intensive program proposes to advanced level horn players (aged 16 and over) a personalized pedagogical approach in an online collaborative context.

  • Two private lessons per week
         Teachers: Guy Carmichael, Louis-Philippe Marsolais
  • Weekly participation to a masterclass
         Guest Faculty: Erik Ralske
  • Daily masterclasses
  • Two weekly group warm-up or technique classes
  • Weekly themed workshops
Ex.: career management, psychology, Alexander, etc.
  • Festive online social events, such as happy hours or round tables

This segment is designed for very advanced students or young professionals whose file stands out due to its quality and its exceptional nature and who wish to work in depth on their repertoire in preparation of a recital, contest or audition.

A limited number of students will be accepted (maximum 3 per program) to the enhanced content and will automatically receive a scholarship worth approximately $250 CDN per week.

Complete all steps of the online application form and provide the audition materiel as soon as possible.

For new registrations, available places will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Please upload two separate recent videos* (less than 12 months) clearly labeled, fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Two (2) works of your choice of contrasting types (style, period and composer); total length: about 15 to 20 minutes.

*Video link (one link per piece or a single link with different works); public or unlisted YouTube, Vimeo or DropBox links or any other link directly accessible without a password and clearly labeled.

The student must submit the repertoire that he or she would like to work on or improve during the session by uploading the details (titles, composers and edition) to Your Profile (Step 5) by Monday, June 1, 2020 at the latest. You must be prepared to play the repertoire as soon as the virtual class begins.

All the students can play in masterclasses with the guest musician as long as the professors judge that their level of practice and preparation is sufficient. It is each student’s responsibility to prepare their chosen repertoire adequately.

Individual lessons
Participants in the regular program will work in private lessons with the faculty professor of their choice. We will try to favour a student’s first choice of professor but depending on circumstances and available spots in the classes, a student could be assigned his second or third choice of professor.

Technology hardware
We strongly recommend that each student acquire adequate technology hardware in order to fully benefit from the virtual eLearning experience.

  • An Ethernet cable connected directly into the router is preferable as is using a computer rather than a tablet or phone.
  • For maximum acoustic quality, we recommend using a professional external microphone plugged into the computer and being in a very quiet or soundproof environment.

Domaine Forget has chosen to join the online eLearning platform Play with a Pro which offers the best possible Academic educational experience.

It is up to each student to optimize his/her workspace to fully benefit from this virtual online experience at the Domaine Forget Academy.

Pre-recorded videos
Each student must record a 1 to 3 minute presentation video: background, school,  career path and expectations of the eLearning session that professors could view before the beginning of the session.

The student must also submit a video of his/her entire work before the start of the first session as well as on the 4th day of the session so that the professors can use the videos to improve the pedagogical experience.

N.B.: It is strictly forbidden to record or take photos during masterclasses without the guest musician’s prior approval, should this be the case, these recordings or photos must be kept solely for your private use.
