Chamber Music of Vienna

 The two-week Chamber Music Session is designed for instrumentalists (violin, viola and cello) of advanced level or semi-professionals.

Domaine Forget’s Chamber Music session offers a unique opportunity of working alongside international masters and young artists at the peak of their art in a convivial and intimate setting. During the two weeks, each participant will study two different works in two different ensembles with one artist Mentor per group.

  • Two rehearsals per day lasting two hours each
  • Lectures and workshops discussing the session’s repertoire and its interpretation
  • Informal repertoire reading sessions
  • Participation in Academy student concerts or ‘’Domaine on the Road’’ concert series.


  • Free access to all the Academy classes and activities for the entire session: masterclasses, workshops and conferences  
  • Free access to le Domaine Forget International Festival concerts during the session (Restrictions may apply for certain concerts) 
  • Student evening activities (bonfire, sports activities, tourist outings, movies, yoga etc.) 
  • Individual practice huts and spaces situated on the enchanting site in the middle of nature. 
  • Three meals a day in the Joseph-Rouleau pavilion, which has a large terrace and marvelous view overlooking the St. Lawrence River.  
  • Double or quadruple occupancy lodging


Complete all steps of the online application form, pay the registration fee and provide the following material by February 15, 2019.

  • 2 works, clearly identified - 20 minutes total – of contrasting types (style, period and composer), at least one with accompaniment
  • Letter of motivation explaining your artistic approach and your interest in participating in the sessions at Domaine Forget

Preparing your session

Each participant must fully insure his/her instrument for the entire length of his/her session. Unfortunately, Domaine Forget does not rent or loan musical instruments. 


Arrival: Sunday, June 16, 2019 after 2 P.M. (Classes begin on Monday)
Departure: Saturday, June 29, 2019 after breakfast

TUITION (including room board, tuition and photocopies)

two week session

Canadian student: $2,010 CDN 
International student: $2,150 CDN 

*The students accepted to the program will receive a scholarship.


One masterclass: $50 CDN

One day: $80 CDN

One week: $375 CDN


First instalment 

To confirm and reserve your place, a first deposit, non-refundable fee covering half of the full amount for your internship is required within seven (7) days, following your acceptance letter and invoice.

Second instalment

The second payment is due no later than May 1, 2019.


A $50 fee will be charged for any change, on dates, or duration of yourstay. Failure to comply with these terms, will result for the accepted student the lost of his/her reserved place. Le Domaine Forget reserves the right to cancel any program if circumstances demands it.


Le Domaine Forget will retain 50% of the second payment in case of cancellation of your registration. No refund will be made after May 2, 2019.


Domaine Forget uses Paypal for secure payments. Email confirmation (in addition to the automated PayPal notification email) will be sent as soon as possible, once payment has been confirmed. Payment confirmation may take a few days. Remember: You must enter the amount you wish to pay and the full name of the registering student.
